Irish Water Spaniel
fine art print
After the success of the two prints that I produced for the IWS Club of Great Britain I was constantly asked by members to produce a third. This is it, a personal, non-commissioned print, and my thanks go to Mrs Pat Wake for her tireless assistance. By now I knew the breed well and had firm ideas of how I wished to treat them — especially after the photo-session at the lagoon that soon had the dogs soaked through!
I needed a bird to complete the composition and my cat Jim solved the puzzle — he brought home a Snipe and insisted on taking the body for himself but not before I had rescued the wings and head, which provided all the detail necessary for the study.
